Lithium battery business training

Image
Some dramatically different approaches to EV batteries could see progress in 2023, though they will likely take longer to make a commercial impact. One advance to keep an eye on this year is in so-called solid-state batteries. Lithium-ion batteries and related chemistries use a liquid electrolyte that shuttles charge around; solid-state batteries replace this liquid with ceramics or other solid materials.  At the same time, concerns about supplies of key battery materials like cobalt and lithium are pushing a search for alternatives to the standard lithium-ion chemistry.  In the midst of the soaring demand for EVs and renewable power and an explosion in battery development, one thing is certain: batteries will play a key role in the transition to renewable energy. Here’s what to expect in 2023. The global battery value chain, like others within industrial manufacturing, faces significant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges Environmental:  The extraction and refini

LITHIUM BATTERY SYSTEM DESIGN

Image
Lithium battery system design is a highly interdisciplinary topic that requires qualified designers. Best practices outlined in IEEE, Navy, NASA, and Department of Defense publications should be followed. Battery selection, protection, life, charging design, electric control systems, energy balance of the system, and warning labels are examples of topics that require thoughtful consideration. Systems designed for mobile applications should apply best practices to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. Designs should include a hazard assessment that identifies health, physical and environmental hazards, with all hazards appropriately mitigated through engineering and administrative controls. Examples of baseline criteria for system design include: • Failure scenarios, including thermal runaway should be considered during design and testing so that a failure is not catastrophic. Maintain cells at manufacturers’ recommended operating temperatures during charging or discharging.  •

Nashik’s Municipality Picks 28 Sites To Setup EV Charging Stations

Image
The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has chosen 28 areas around the city where the electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be installed in order to stimulate the sale of EVs. Municipal commissioner Kailas Jadhav stated that the municipality will provide the property on lease for 25 years to companies that will install EV charging stations. The companies will have to cover the costs of setting up the charging stations. To encourage the usage of EVs, the state government has already implemented an EV policy, and several steps have been taken by Jadhav that lead to promoting electric vehicles in the city. The civic authority recently issued an ordinance requiring EV charging stations in all residential societies with 25 or more apartments, with one EV charging station for every 25 flats. Furthermore, during a recent meeting, the NMC’s general body approved the city municipal administration’s request to purchase electric and CNG vehicles in the future for it

Electric Vehicles Grow 112% In Mumbai Alone

Image
Electric vehicles (EV) are experiencing a surge in demand in Mumbai and Maharashtra. The state experienced a 153% increase in new e-vehicle registrations in the first nine months of the fiscal year 2021-2022, while the city saw a 112% elevation in the same time, according to the most recent transportation statistics. From April 1 to December 27 in FY2021-22, the number of registered e-vehicles grew from 9,415 in 2020-21 to 23,786 in just nine months. Furthermore, authorities reported 57,386 total e-vehicles registered in Maharashtra so far; it may surpass a lakh in a few months. From 48 new e-vehicles registered in 2017-18 in Mumbai, the number increased to 132 in 2018-19, 642 in 2019-20, and 1,442 in 2020-21. Registrations of new e-cars/e-two-wheelers more than doubled in the city in the nine months of 2021-22, totalling 3,059, taking the total EV count to 6,000. Tardeo has the highest number of EV registrations, 1,920 e-cars/scooters, on the island city.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations

Image
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations in the public areas of the city. PMC has also selected locations for the set up of charging stations which includes municipal gardens, educational institutes, and main roads. PMC has issued tender for the same and private agencies too can bid on the setup. It plans to charge a minimal fee for charging vehicles and the amount earned will be used to maintain the stations. The implementation of the project will take place on a revenue-sharing basis. PMC will provide the required space for private owners to establish the stations and other arrangements can be made by the companies. Setting up new EV charging stations will boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the city of Pune. In Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, people are buying more electric vehicles than electric rickshaws, and hence e-rickshaws couldn’t make an impression in the city. But officials believe that e-rickshaws have a bright f

Kerala To Have 1,140 Pole-Mounted EV Charging Stations For E-Autos

Image
In collaboration with the state transportation department, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) plans to install pole-mounted charging stations for e-autorickshaws across the state. Power minister K Krishnan Kutty and transport minister Antony Raju met here on Thursday and decided to install a total of 1,140 pole-mounted charging stations across the state. According to the proposals, each constituency inside the corporation’s boundaries would receive 15 charging stations, while the assembly constituency would receive five charging stations apiece.  The committee also voted to nominate the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) as the nodal agency for disbursing the transportation department’s 25% grant to private entrepreneurs putting up e-charging stations. The KSEB plans to complete the 26 EV charging stations by February 2022. The decision to deploy pole-mounted charging stations throughout the state was made in response

Bajaj To Set Up New EV Plant With Rs 300 Crore Investment

Image
Bajaj Auto Limited will invest Rs 350 crore to set up a new electric vehicle facility in Akurdi, Pune. The unit will have a manufacturing capacity of 500,000 electric vehicles per year. Bajaj owns another factory in Akurdi for the Chetak scooter. Bajaj will have cutting-edge automated and robotic manufacturing systems at its EV manufacturing unit in Pune. Fabrication and painting, logistics and material handling, and assembly and quality assurance will be automated. The plant will employ approximately 800 people. The first vehicle will be launched by June 2022.  In 2001 Bajaj 2.0 took off on the roaring Pulsar, in 2021 Bajaj 3.0 arrives on the charming Chetak. Going forward, for the Bajaj portfolio, except for implementing one state-of-the-art ICE platform that is currently under development, all our R&D drive train resources are now laser-focused on creating EV solutions for the future. This alignment reflects our belief that light Electric Vehicles for sustaina
